“‘I lied, okay! What even is a klick and why is the ground water!?”
Kvirja is a young lady from the capital city of the planet Neevarit in the Vanaheimr Realm who joined Arix and Lytri’s treasure hunt one day while she was running away from her arranged marriage. Stuck in the same city her entire life, Kvirja yearns for the thrill of adventure and all the sights there are to see and plans to make a permanent home out of their interdimensional waypoint at the Forge.
Personality
Kvirja has a hopeful spirit. She wants to experience the world after being cooped up in the same city her whole life and doesn’t have much patience for people who hesitate to act. She is very straightforward with her words and intentions yet at the same time a bit socially inept from her lack of friends throughout her life. She is also somewhat tomboyish having taken up roles in her society that we would typically see as more masculine and, despite having a sense of style, she will almost always prefer function of fashion. She is a practical kind of gal.
History
Early Life
Kvirja was born to Kvirnan, the Vicar of Labor for the capital city of Neevarit. While most women who live in the same zone for their entire lives are either half-sisters or first cousins due to the large disparity of women to men in their species, class in their society typically follows from mother to daughter. Kvirja rejected her higher status and chose to work with the lower laborers her mother oversaw instead of studying to take over her position someday. She mostly worked in construction, but she had to keep floating from company to company as the others kept finding out someone of practically noble status was endangering herself on their watch. Between constantly changing jobs and jealousy of her natural status, Kvirja never really made many friends and lived a very lonely life trapped in a sea of people she could never get close to.
Trying one last time to give her only daughter a good life, Kvirnan used her position to arrange a marriage for Kvirja. Being a noble, Kvirja was always expected to marry one of the five hundred men in her city, but she never expected her mother to be able to set her up with the sole prince to inherit the throne of their society.
Realms and Relics
On the day of her wedding, Kvirja couldn’t take it anymore and became a runaway bride. She decided that she was finally going to leave this city and see other places in the world even if it was by foot. On her way out of town, Kvirja crashed into a woman, named Arix, who was also running from her own problems: the Valkyr Dragoons. The object Arix stole fell onto Kvirja’s person and she was dragged away onto the very adventure she had been craving. Arix called on a friend to get them out of there. The two of them hopped through a couple subspace gates, with a completely different planet in between, eventually evading the Valkyra and returning to Arix’s base, the Forge.
At the Forge, Kvirja met Arix’s friend, a dwarf named Lytri, who helped them out and learned that her new associate was actually a human man whose form was just in flux and appeared to be a vanir woman due to the magic of Nerthus’ cart. They told her about their treasure hunt and Kvirja decided to join them. She and Arix hopped through another subspace gate to Nordr’s Temple on Earth and navigated the maze to find the Flower of Vanaheimr. They are nearly killed by Nordr after stealing the Flower, but after making a favorable trade, they make it back to the Forge mostly unscathed.
Attributes
Stats
Might: Though she might appear no different than females of Earth, Kvirja is of a vanir race where females make up the bulk of the population. Her muscle and bone fibers are much denser than one would expect and give her athleticism on par with Earth men who would regularly perform the same type of tasks. While her striking strength is around average having never been in a fight in her life, Kvirja can lift roughly 90 kilograms in an overhead press.
Vigor: Having dense enough bone and muscle fibers to host the amount of strength Kvirja has on her feminine frame also makes her more resilient to physical damage than even the average human man. She still bruises fairly easily and just has an average level of pain tolerance from only ever getting hurt while doing her contracting work. She has above-average stamina for strength-based endeavors, but not much for cardio exercises.
Alacrity: She isn’t much of an athlete, so her average running speed is only around twelve miles per hour and her sprint maxes out at around eighteen miles per hour for a very brief period. Her combat reflexes should be below average.
Intuition: Kvirja has average intelligence for her species (roughly the same as an Earth human) and slightly below-average instincts. She is the type of person to trust her gut, but her gut often leads her into less-than-favorable situations. If she doesn’t know what something means, she will sometimes act like she knows to her own detriment.
Morale: She has a very bright spirit and can usually see the potential in any situation. Kvirja may not always be cheery in every situation, but her emotional energy is always in high gear. This places her willpower at above-average and more adaptable than most, but still in the extreme ends. Freaking out is a coping mechanism to keep her spirits up.
Luck: Her luck is average. There is nothing special about it and tends to even out over time.
Abilities
Construction Skills: Kvirja has all the skills of a general contractor including anything required to construct a building to code (on her world). Her specialty is carpentry, but she has ample experience with masonry and plumbing above other skills in the trade.
Equipment
Cross-realm Regulator: An invention of Lytri’s that looks like an odd wristwatch. It keeps the wearer in their default entropic state no matter where they are in the universe preventing them from changing forms when jumping from realm to realm. It also acts as a communication device linking back to the Forge.
