Kenji – A middle school boy from Japan who is the first child we follow through
the Dreamscape.
Momotaro, the Brave – The dream that comes to Kenji’s rescue when he is in dire need; he takes the form of the classic Japanese fable character that Kenji loved as a young child.
Abby, the Old Hag – A ghostly woman who chased Kenji around his nightmare. There is more to her than it first appears.
Morpheus, the Conductor – A tall, pale, but seemingly kind man who invites the kids onto the train and offers to take them to a location called Dream Central Station.
