Notice on current direction: 03-AUG-26

For our regular visitors and newcomers alike, I would like to post a notice on the current direction of the website and our associated projects. As of right now, all webnovels and webcomics are on hiatus (I know, real shocker there). That does not mean all comic projects are, just the ones I am personally illustrating. The Dreamscape Dilemma is still being worked on by PhasmaGORE when she has time.

The primary reason is to prioritize the foundation of our TTRPG system that I am dubbing the Entropy Effect (which was almost the name of the TCG instead). I’ve spent most of my free time since May working on it (all by myself, I might add), just to be able to get the beta version out as soon as possible. Still have a long way to go before that happens, but I am further prioritizing the specific sections needed to demo a one-shot on stream (along with familiar friends PhasmaGORE and Rick Piper/Cross Comics). One of the reasons it is taking as long as it is to get to that point falls directly on the nature of the system. It is designed from the outset to have a base ruleset and modular guides for different settings, as it needs to accommodate all the needs of EDK. This also gives us the opportunity to further explore the universe together as a community and learn more about all the different realms across the world tree.

The base rules cover Earth. The first setting is called Kergol Space, a Leaf of Ygdrassil containing a single galaxy primarily controlled by the Kergol Alliance. Fans of Phantasy Star will notice the immediate inspiration upon viewing. So far, I have finished the Introduction, Basics, Character Creation, and Talents chapters for the Player’s Manual [base setting], as well as the Races, Heritage, and Vocations chapters for the setting we are playing in. The plan is to have a character creation demo streamed by the end of the week on Cross Comics (then mirrored on our YouTube), then run the one-shot by the ned of the month, then the full beta version of the Player’s Manual and first Settings Guide by the end of the year. Fingers crossed.

One of the main reasons I’m focusing on this is not only because I’ve always wanted my own ruleset that caters to my neeeds, but also since this is sort of how most of the stories for EDK were made in the first place. My family and friends would run long campaigns with the same characters that were a combination of LARP, Tabletop, and often just discussion RP that crafted things like A Hymn of Valor, A Chronicling of a Planet Called Mirra’, and the titular Ex Dynamis Chaos. This project has always been community focused from the start and I want to go back to that, so that we can begin crafterd new stories as I go back to finishing the documenting of the old ones. That’s also why I’m probably hard prioritizing the webnovels over the webcomics after this TTRPG is up and running. I’ve always been more of a writer than an illustrator anyhow.

Also after the TTRPG beta is available, I will begin working on the ruleset and beta cards for the TCG (the other promised empy section of the site that’s been there forever). That will take a lot less time to get the basic version up and running. We will be selling physical merchandise for both the TTRPG and TCG, but all the rules will be available on this site for free, as well as the image files for the cards if you want to print them yourself and play at home. Because of that, as always, it would be pretty cool for anyone who wishes to donate to the site or buy some of the merch we already have to support me as I work on this. The Patreon is also an option and if you back the Freelancer tier, I’ll package you some digital goodies for the TTRPG that will be exclusive for supporters (also available for direct donations if asked in the message).

If you would like to keep up with all this more frequently, be sure to join our Discord server. I hang post a lot of stuff as it gets finished in there (so it is the quickes place to be notified on updates) and I hangout in there sometimes. We will also be playing TTRPG campaigns directly in the stage channel. You do need the Roleplayer role to interact in the TTRPG channels (you can view without it), so just ping The Metal for the role when you come in and I’ll make sure you get.
